SMP Europe’s range of EGR Valves has been developed for several years, to improve aftermarket EGR solutions. Our research into existing aftermarket solutions showed that in all cases existing electronics were unreliable and in the worst cases missing components altogether.
The solution, built on over 50 years experience in the design and manufacture of Engine Management components, was to replace the electronics with custom designed PCB’s, developed at our state of the art research and manufacturing facility in Nottingham, UK. Improvements have also been made to materials and methods used in the manufacture of castings with our partner suppliers.
Designed and developed at our Centre of Engineering Excellence, our team of experts utilised the latest techniques and technologies. The new range of EGR Valves offer a fully temperature compensated design, with each unit individually calibrated on bespoke end of line testing equipment to meet or exceed OE performance standards. Whilst many aftermarket solutions contain traditional technologies, our parts are manufactured with the latest and best materials, with custom designed electronics, giving our range a proven record for high performance over a long service life.
Following significant investment into our Engineering capabilities in recent years, including software and machinery, we are able to significantly reduce the costs of tooling and manufacture by bringing many of the processes in house, including the design and fabrication of jigs and fixtures. This reduction in cost of production will be reflected in the price, resulting in a high quality, high value range of EGR Valves, among the best performing available to the Aftermarket.
SMP Europe will be taking registration of interest and pre-orders at Automechanika in Frankfurt this month, delivery will commence from January 2023. Multiple brand solutions will be available.
Our EGR range now includes 57 manufactured part numbers covering over 27 million vehicles.
